Back from Thailand

Jeff and I are finally back from Thailand. We had a great time. Here are a couple of our travel pics. Jeff covered in monkeys, Jeff and I at one of the temples in Thailand, at one of the temples in Cambodia, me holding a live python, and Jeff, our friends, and I eating crickets. They were deep fried.
Cambodia was so hot, I thought we were going to die. We took a day and ditched out on the tour and went to the Children's hospital. That was eye-opening.

It was nice to travel with our friends. Plus, a lot of the trip was as part of a very nice tour group. We did, thankfully, have some time on our own and a couple days to relax on our own time on Phuket Island.
We got to ride elephants, take boat trips, eat exotic food, visit Laos, have a suit made, and see a LOT of buddhist temples. Overall, its a trip I recommend. Although the heat in Cambodia would lead me to not recommend going there. You can live like a king in Thailand on the dollar still. The only down side is the long plane flight. I have to admit that we even had western style toilets almost everywhere we went. Now, that's travelling in style!

Now that we're back, we have returned to our role of being awful parents. Isis was absolutely covered in blueberry yesterday. She was pretty mad when we took them away from her. To compound the things we destroyed with blueberry, we gave them to her in the car.

Movin' on up.

Well, we moved on up to the East side a little further. Now, we have a bigger house and more room for the munchkin to roam. And roam she does! She is fast like lightening. We are having our kitchen remodeled, so it is not the safest place for her right now, but turn your head for a moment and there she is. A favorite game is now pulling the baby-safe covers off the power outlets. Fun! Check out the picture of the kitchen in process of being torn out.

Jeff and I are heading out of the country this week for a couple of weeks, so my parents will be alone with Isis for a while. They may need some support. Isis will be pretty excited to get rid of us for a while, though. With moving, remodeling, and all else, we have been no fun.

Updates

Well, we haven't updated for way too long. Lots of big news. Isis can crawl now. She usually gets around in the normal crawling position, but she also likes to stick her right foot out in front of her while she crawls like she is about to stand up. She does a pretty good job walking while holding on to things and today, she tried to stand without holding anything and fell right on her head so she has a big bump on her forehead.

Here's a picture of her next to J.D.'s daughter, Reese. Reese is only two days younger than Isis. Reese gets around pretty good and Isis likes to follow her.

The weekend she learned to crawl, we decided this house is way, way too small. She is into everything. So, we are buying a bigger house. We will move in the end of August and we are already planning the party (and the replacement of the really ugly kitchen.) We have the most wonderful real estate agent, so if you need someone, call us. He got us the house we want at the price we want and fought for us to get everything fixed that we wanted fixed. Grandma Marilyn and Grandpa Bruce have been out helping us get our house ready to put on the market. Our plan is to put it on the market the beginning of September.

In other news, Isis will be one year old on August 12. Gretchen and Bill are coming out for her birthday. We've included a picture of Isis with Jeff's family from April. They'll be really surprised to see her now. She's so big, and crawling!

Isis with Grandma and Grandpa

Isis with my friend, Brian, who got to see her only when she was cranky. But, she really loves matzo for Passover. Anything crunchy. Isis with Gandma. Yeah, Grandpa! The whole family, minus Isis, who was sleeping.

Back to the grandparents

Isis got to meet her Great-Grandmother in Florida last week. She just loved her. She has been really giggly lately. Her favorite game is now to give you her pacifier and let you suck on it. She laughs and laughs. She is currently down in St. George with her grandparents. They are working on waving "bye-bye," playing "pat-a-cake," and giving "high five's." She will be a pro in no time. Isis also likes being in her backpack, wearing sunglasses like her daddy. She can really look around that way. We will have more pictures of her with grandma and grandpa soon. Plus, if we can figure out how to post it, we will put up the video of grandma drowning her with a glass of water. Isis doesn't really have the whole drinking from a glass thing down yet, but she thinks its fun.

Six months!

Well, Isis is six months old. We went to the pediatrician yesterday and she was given her six month immunizations, which have left her really angry and with a fever today. So, Jeff had to stay home from work with a really cranky baby.

At her appointment, she was 16.4 pounds and 26.75 inches long. She's a big girl. Her growth has slowed down a little, but she's still big for her age and growing well. She got a clean bill of health and we got a little more "yes, you're doing fine," from the pediatrician.

Isis loves her purple giraffe toy. She puts it in her mouth and forgets about it and then just looks around with a giraffe hanging out of her mouth. I tried to get a picture without her hand there, but she remembers the giraffe just before I take the picture.
She also loves to mangle paper.

Week off

Well, Isis has been with Grandma and Grandpa all week. It sounds like she has been having the best time. Jeff got to have a ski weekend with his buddy. I got to get a little sleep. We pick Isis up tomorrow and I'm sure she will tell us all about her wonderful week. Here are a few pictures from right before she went to Grandma and Grandpa's house. This is her in her snowsuit, her in bed playing with her favorite toy - the tag on her teddy bear, and Ellen with a block of ice she decided was a toy. We had to take toy away from Ellen and she wasn't happy.

Cats and kids

Just a couple pictures for you. Here is Leo in her newest "house". We had some boxes with Christmas wrap stuffed in them and Leo decided that was the place for her.

Plus, a cute picture of Isis and Jeff.

Ellen

Okay, Ellen got my yogurt cup from earlier and when she was done with it, she took it to bed with her and cuddled it. Its just too funny, so I had to share.
